About this event
This 6-week course will teach the fundamentals of the pottery wheel! You will use these skills to create your own beautiful pieces of pottery. This class is beginner-friendly and great for returning students! Class fee includes all materials, firing fees, independent study time, and tool usage. No class 11/26. What to expect
The course starts with wheel basics and builds toward finished pieces of your own. Materials, firing and tool use are covered by the class fee, and independent study time is part of the package. Feats of Clay's multi-week classes also come with weekly open studio hours, so you can practice between sessions. The pieces are fired at the studio, and the course wraps up with a glazing session.

Six weeks is enough time to get past the wobbly first attempts and make pieces you want to keep. Feats of Clay is a woman-owned ceramics studio on McPhaul Street, with a gallery of local ceramics up front and working studio space in the back. It has a community feel, and the studio calls itself about as weird as Austin gets. The class is a good fit if you want a steady, hands-on way to learn pottery.
