About this event
The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) is excited to once again be an official community partner for the 2026 Texas Book Festival, happening Saturday and Sunday, November 14 and 15, in Austin. The Texas Center for the Book will welcome book lovers to the Lorenzo de Zavala State Archives and Library Building for author panels for both days of the festival, as well as for special, behind-the-scenes tours of the State Archives on Saturday (12:00 noon, 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m., limited to 15 people per tour on a first come, first-served basis). Named a National Literary Landmark, the Lorenzo de Zavala Building is the agency’s flagship, located directly east of the Texas Capitol at 1201 Brazos St. View the six flags flown over Texas, six Texas seal mosaics, the panoramic Texas history lobby mural, our changing storyboards, and the current exhibit, Texas America250, featuring documents, photographs, and artifacts from TSLAC’s collections that spotlight some of the areas where Texans’ contributions shine especially bright - true Texas icons that remind all Americans of the 28th state during continuing celebrations of the 250 anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. TSLAC’s opening hours for the festival will be 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, and 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 15.
