About this event

Created by Musealia and Titanic historian and expert Claes-Göran Wetterholm, this experience separates fact from fiction like never before. An audio guide in English and Spanish will serve as the narrator that will guide you throughout the experience. Testimonies of passengers and crew will take you back to 1912. Unravel the true story of the ship as you embark on a trip through time bringing you closer to the myths, stories and the real history of the Titanic.

Who's playing

Musealia, an exhibition producer, made the show with Claes-Göran Wetterholm, a Titanic historian whose research on the people on board spans more than 40 years. Austin is the exhibition's U.S. debut. The focus is on passengers and crew, not only on the disaster.

What to expect

You move in order through the ship's story, from its construction to the night of the sinking and the wreck on the seabed. More than 200 original objects are on display, including photographs, handwritten letters and personal keepsakes. Life-size recreations range from first-class suites to plain third-class cabins. The audio guide adds survivor testimonies, period music and sound effects. The exhibition is held indoors on Middle Fiskville Road.

Why go

The exhibition sets out to separate the myths from the documented history, and it does so through individual lives. Many passengers were immigrants heading for a new start, and their belongings make that real. It suits history readers, families and anyone who knows the story mostly from the movie.
