Walk Through Austin's Music History: An Austin Music Culture & History Walking Tour

Walk through the people, places and stories that shaped Austin’s music scene on this guided tour of the Drag. Led by an Austin native and local musician, this 75–90 minute walking tour explores the venues, record stores, murals and creative spaces connected to artists including Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Townes Van Zandt, Nanci Griffith, Spoon, Daniel Johnston and more. Stops include Antone’s Record Shop, Hole in the Wall, the original Austin City Limits studio, Cactus Cafe and Daniel Johnston’s iconic “Hi, How Are You” mural. The tour covers approximately 1.5 miles and begins at Antone’s Record Shop. Additional dates and departure times are available through Eventbrite. Tickets: $25 per person
