Who's playing

Mimi Meier, Holly Hart Raiborn and Greg Phelps wrote the show. The cast includes Brian McAughan, Brian Dryer, Chism Cornelison, Jo Foster, Joseph Simmons, Ryan Ashkenase and Syd Goin, with Yuki Desouza on keys. Guest acts include dance by Anglea Mayhew and Micah Senter, drag by Slaylem, burlesque by Fig, music by John Daugherty and costumes by Mae Hardebeck.

What to expect

A loose story runs through the night. Monster tenants learn their landlord plans to sell their decrepit apartment building, and the sketches and songs grow out of that. The tone is campy and a little throwback, with a sexy streak, and the show draws on a pool of blood, ghosts, goblins and ghouls. It is a full-length production with a big cast. The Elevate grant from Austin's arts and culture office helped pay for it.

Why go

This is a Halloween show built around Austin's comedy scene, with the city's sketch performers, drag artists and dancers on one stage. Fallout Theater is an underground, BYOB comedy room on Lavaca Street. It has run shows seven nights a week since 2018, and it suits a loose, costume-friendly night out downtown.
