Austin’s Haunted Mansions CHATEAU BELLEVUE Ghost Investigation and Tour Encounter real ghosts, relive history, and witness the paranormal firsthand on a true Halloween Ghost Adventure! Austin Ghost Tours have exclusive access inside one of the most haunted locations in Austin, Texas. Rarely open to the public, we will be bringing our ghost investigation equipment, expertise, and real ghost evidence to the limestone fortress that is the Chateau Bellevue. The Chateau Bellevue Mansion is perched above the city on a hilltop long revered by indigenous people as a place of worship and is the heart of the landmark block of Victorian-era mansions. Discover the mansion's tumultuous history and true ghost stories on a ghost investigation of the oldest and most haunted part of the mansion. We will also walk along the tranquil, forgotten, and famously haunted Bremond Block, Austin’s only neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places. Surrounded by old oaks, where the shadowed streets seem quiet to the living, but beyond the five senses, the past is still living large. $45.00 per person – 90-minutes – rain or shine – family-friendly (Start times may vary depending on date - please check the website for specifics)
What to expect
The evening starts inside the oldest part of the mansion, with the tour company's investigation equipment and the ghost stories attached to the house. After that, the group walks the Bremond Block under old oaks. The listing bills it as family-friendly and says it runs rain or shine. Expect a storytelling tour with a bit of gadgetry, not a staged scare.
Why go
Chateau Bellevue is an 1874 French Romanesque house. Architect Alfred Giles later gave it crenellations and limestone arcades, and it has been the Austin Woman's Club home since 1929. Getting inside is the main draw, since the mansion is not a regular tour stop. The Bremond Block walk adds one of the best-preserved Victorian streetscapes in Texas, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
