SMELLS LIKE SCREAM SPIRIT (90s Rock)
Saturday, October 31 at The Porch San Marcos, Austin
About this event
Join us on Halloween night for a killer lineup! Lonestar Lions (covering Sublime) Radically Poetic (covering RATM) Dankeshön (covering Nirvana) Music starts at 9:00. 21+ free, under 21 $10
Who's playing
Lonestar Lions cover Sublime, bringing a reggae and ska-punk sound from a band that plays around Texas. Radically Poetic take on Rage Against the Machine. Dankeshön play the Nirvana songbook. Each band covers one 90s act, so the night moves between three very different sounds.
What to expect
A multi-band bill of 90s covers, with music starting at 9:00 on Halloween night. The Porch has a full bar, pool tables, dart boards and a 360-degree bar built from salvaged wood from the 2011 Bastrop fires. Expect a crowd that includes Texas State students and downtown regulars.
Why go
Sublime, Rage and Nirvana make a good three-act bill for a Halloween show, and the covers are the point. The Porch is an independent, locally focused room that has hosted live music since 2013. It is an easy trip down from Austin for a night of loud 90s rock.
