Who's playing
Brigitte Bandit hosts. She is an award-winning Austin drag queen, producer and queer activist, and she also runs a weekly drag brunch at the Coconut Club. The competitors are local drag performers on an open stage. That means regulars and newcomers can end up on the same bill.
What to expect
Performers compete, and the crowd's applause picks the winner, who takes home $100. The winner then lipsyncs against the runner-up for another $50. Brigitte chooses the lipsync winner, and the audience helps pick the song. It is loud and playful, and the room is part of the contest.
