Haunted Shores – Family-Friendly Halloween Walk-Through Near Austin Looking for a family-friendly Halloween event in Austin, Texas or a unique haunted attraction near Austin? Welcome to Haunted Shores: The Abandoned Waterpark at Volente Beach Resort & Waterpark on Lake Travis! From October 1–31, explore a spooky Halloween walk-through filled with haunted scenes, creepy characters, ghostly encounters, unexpected scares, and plenty of Halloween fun. Haunted Shores is designed as a family-friendly haunted experience for kids, teens, parents, and adults. Come early for dinner at Beachside Billys (our attached restaurant). Simply grab an open table, scan the qr code and get your order in. We deliver everything to the table you scan. Enjoy spooky cocktails and themed snacks, and stick around after your walk-through for more Halloween fun!
What to expect
You walk through a series of haunted scenes with creepy characters, ghostly encounters and the occasional jump scare. Pirates and witches haunt the shoreline, and one stretch is a Forbidden Forest with shadowy creatures. The walk runs 30 minutes or more and is built for kids, teens and adults. On Fridays and Saturdays, a haunted boat ride around Starnes Island is available as an add-on.
Why go
The setting is the draw. A real lakeside waterpark in the dark makes a good haunted attraction, and the scares are pitched so families can do it together. Beachside Billys is attached, with a Lake Travis view, themed snacks and cocktails. Plan to get there early for a meal and stay afterward, when there is more Halloween fun for the kids. It is an easy Halloween outing from Austin.
