Who's playing
Double Heads DJ Crew provides the music. Hecate's Bazaar curates the Witch Market, so vendors set up alongside the dogs and the DJ. The Hotel Vegas Kennel Club hosts the night. The venue is also previewing DittyDog, its new food truck, in a soft launch.
What to expect
The night centers on the Doggie Costume Contest. There are three categories: Tiny Dog, Big Friend for large dogs, and a Couple's Costume where dog and owner match. Despite the name, big dogs are welcome too. Halloween cocktail features are on the menu, and the whole thing happens outside on the patio.
Why go
Hotel Vegas and its sister bar, the Volstead Lounge, are a longtime East Austin dive and live-music stop. The big backyard patio is the best part of the place, and a dog costume party suits it well. It's a free, 21+ Halloween option for people who would rather spend the night with their dog than at a club.
