About this event
Celebrate 15 years of Halloween in Austin with Dead Music Capital Band, joined by tribute act Tom Waits for No One and Jim Ortiz & the Ballroom Destroyers. Expect an evening of eclectic sounds, theatrical performances and a celebration of Austin’s live music scene. Whether you’re a longtime fan or looking for something a little different this Halloween, this show brings together local talent for a night of music with plenty of character. This project is supported in part by a Nexus Grant of Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment.
Who's playing
Dead Music Capital Band headlines a local bill built around Austin's live music scene. Tom Waits for No One is a tribute act devoted to the songs of Tom Waits. Jim Ortiz & the Ballroom Destroyers round out the night with their own material. The description promises eclectic sounds and theatrical performances from all three.
What to expect
Expect a three-act night with a lot of character and a Halloween mood. The Raven Room is the music venue attached to Crow Bar, with a stage, a house PA and lights. Crow Bar has been an East Austin dive bar since 2010, with dark gothic lounge spaces, two pool tables, a jukebox and a dog-friendly patio. The bar calls itself a little grimy and a little loud.
Why go
This show is a local-talent start to the Halloween season, and a tribute set and two original acts make for an uncommon mix. Crow Bar's spooky look suits the theme. The event is supported in part by a Nexus Grant from Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment.
