**Event is 21+, line is FIRST COME FIRST SERVED** Join us Thursday, October 29th for this year's edition of Zilker Sessions! We'll be at the historic Antones on 5th Street putting on live music from some of our favorite artists: Angel White (7-8:30) and The Droptines (9-10:30)! Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the venue. No cover, but capacity is limited. There is limited parking, so we highly recommend using a ride share. See y’all soon!
Who's playing
Angel White takes the early slot, and The Droptines follow with the later set. The organizers picked both as favorites, and the night is built around those two sets rather than a long bill. I found no further detail on either act's sound, so check their own pages if you want a preview.
What to expect
Two sets with a short changeover between them, in a room built for live music. Antone's is mostly standing room, with food and drinks sold inside. Capacity is limited and the line is first come, first served, so the room is likely to feel full.
Why go
Antone's has been called the Home of the Blues since Clifford Antone opened it in 1975. Stevie Ray Vaughan and the Fabulous Thunderbirds came up there. The current club sits in the old Maxey Glass building on East Fifth Street, with vintage posters on the walls and a touch of art deco. Seeing two acts there is a good way to spend an evening in downtown Austin.
