Join us at the Austin area's largest pumpkin festival, October 10–November 1, every Saturday and Sunday, plus Oct. 12 & Oct. 30, for a magical fall experience filled with pumpkins, exciting attractions, live entertainment, and good ol' family fun in Leander, Texas.
What to expect
The patch is the centerpiece, with hundreds of thousands of pounds of pumpkins and gourds, plus wagons for hauling your picks. Around it you'll find carnival rides, a train, pony rides, a petting zoo, axe throwing and pumpkin pie eating contests. Newer additions include a 60-foot Ferris wheel and a 135-foot super slide. Live pro wrestling and family-friendly magic shows run through the day, and food trucks, local vendors, beer and wine fill out the grounds.
Why go
It's an all-day outing that works for small kids and bigger ones alike. The photo setups include a 12-foot pumpkin arch, vintage tractors, hay bales and a walk-through inflatable pumpkin, and the festival's mascot, Stan the Pumpkin Man, makes appearances. The festival is held at the Leander VFW post and supports the local veteran community, which gives a Hill Country-edge fall trip a neighborly feel.
