About this event
Watch over 500 athletes from all over the United States compete for the National Champion title at eleven different locations across Austin, Texas.
Who's playing
The field is more than 500 amateur players from across the United States, split into divisions by skill, age and gender. Each division plays for a national championship. The National Amateur Disc Golf Tour runs the event, and it is a PDGA-sanctioned A-tier tournament.
What to expect
There is no single stadium. Players are pooled onto different courses around the Austin area, including Roy G. Guerrero, Sprinkle Valley, Zilker Park and Circle C, and they play four rounds of 18 holes. Watching means walking a course alongside a card of players, so comfortable shoes help. Side events, such as putting and distance contests, have been held around the main rounds, often at local breweries and the Harvey Penick golf campus.
Why go
It is a chance to see serious amateur disc golf on Austin's public courses, which usually host everyday rounds. The courses range from the short, tight Zilker layout to long, open parks like Sprinkle Valley. You can pick one course and follow it, or move between them to compare.
